Keynote and livestream: "Consumption in the Anthropocene"

Melanie Jäger-Erben presents results from current interdisciplinary projects in the field of sustainability and consumer research and derives questions and requirements for future-oriented consumer research. Among other things, Melanie Jäger-Erben's research group conducts research on storage, hoarding and sorting practices in private households, on "citizen science" in environmental research and on the participation of consumers in the installation of large-scale renewable energy systems.

The keynote will take place as part of the workshop "Consumer protection, consumer behavior and consumer participation in the Anthropocene" in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute and the University of Wuppertal. The workshop is part of the project "Agenda Future-oriented Consumer Research" at the Department of Sociological Theory at the University of Kassel. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection on the basis of a decision by the German Bundestag.
