Experimental Perspectives | Hallo e.V. + Constructlab

With the lecture series "Experimental Perspectives" in the "Experimental" module of the "Transformations in City + Country" theme year, scientists are working with partners from the city administration and citizens to develop new usage concepts for areas in the city and region. We want to learn from people who have already successfully contributed to the transformation.

HALLO e.V.

Nina Manz is part of Hallo: Verein zur Förderung raumöffnender Kultur e.V. in the east of Hamburg. Hallo:'s overarching focus is on urban space and cultural production for the common good. One project is PARKS, a programmatic push in a new direction - a joint negotiation of what public space can be, a new way of thinking, planning, designing and using public green spaces and thus creating new practices of community planning. Here, together with the environmental authority, users and landscape architects, a former recycling yard is being transformed into an open space. In this context, Hallo: is initiating the Kiosk project as a neighbourhood contact point with pottery workshops, a children's program, dinner and many other free offers. Hallo: also runs Hallo: Radio, an open and self-organized community internet radio station, the annual Hallo: Festival and the digital Bille-Raum archive.

CONSTRUCTLAB

Alexander Römer is co-founder of Constructlab, a transdisciplinary European design-build network. In the book Convivial Ground, he describes the particularities of collaborative practices as situated experiments and their potential role in the creation of convivial societies. The book explores the contemporary conditions of being together, learning and working and is not a manual, but an invitation to write new convivial narratives together.
