Transatlantic security policy after the US elections: Challenges and prospects

On November 28, 2024, the German Atlantic Society invites you to the high-profile panel discussion "Transatlantic Security Policy after the US Elections: Challenges and Perspectives" in the Walter Lübcke Hall of the Kassel Regional Council. Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global order, experts from the fields of politics, the military, media and science will discuss the security policy implications and the future of transatlantic relations.

The panelists include the security expert and former NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning, retired Lieutenant General Heinrich Brauss, the renowned historian Prof. Dr. Mischa Honeck from the University of Kassel, and the 2024 TV award winner, experienced journalist and WELT-TV chief reporter Steffen Schwarzkopf.

The event will be moderated by Jürgen Fischer, Regional Director of the German Atlantic Society for North Hesse and Editor-in-Chief of the respected specialist magazine Europäische Sicherheit & Technik. The event is being held with the kind support of the Kassel Regional Council. District President Mark Weinmeister will open the event, which is intended not only to encourage reflection, but also an active exchange on European security.

Security policy is not limited to Berlin

"People's questions and concerns about security policy are not limited to Berlin. Especially in the provinces, there are great concerns about security in Germany and Europe. It is a personal concern of mine to offer citizens a platform for exchange with our events," emphasizes Fischer, who initiated this series of discussions.
