I have found each of my stays abroad enriching, whether in tropical forests, Switzerland or Greece. For example, my collaboration with Democritus University in Thrace, which was initially funded by the Erasmus program, has resulted in intensive research collaborations and doctoral projects. You also gain a wealth of experience for the rest of your life, which makes it easier to look at things from different angles and consider the bigger picture when making decisions.
