Networking meeting North Hessian Fairtrade Towns

The Green Office was present on 20.09.22 at the 1st networking meeting of the Hessian Fairtrade Towns, which was organized by Karibu Weltladen together with the city of Kassel. Together with representatives of the Fairtrade initiatives from  Witzenhausen, Gudensberg, Hofgeismar and Bad Arolsen there was an exciting panel discussion on how we can strengthen fair trade together locally.

The city of Kassel is currently on its way to becoming a Fairtrade Town. Fairtrade Towns promote fair trade e.g. by serving fair products like coffee in the town hall and at events,  establishes a fair procurement of the administration but also offers many practical public campaigns.

We would like to take the city of Kassel as a model! Analogous to the Fairtarde Towns, there are Fairtrade Universities all over Germany. Fairtrade Universities promote the awareness and commitment of university actors* for fair trade - combined with the implementation of concrete projects and creative actions on campus.
