Sustain Group sustainability communication

Come to the next Sustain Group Sustainability Communications meeting on 7/26 from 2-4pm at the Green Office! With guided tour "Plants as climate adaptation strategies on campus" by Prof. Körner.

Currently, we in the Sustain Group are working on the two implementation ideas Sustain Board and Sustain Tour.

For the Sustain Tour, a sustainable campus tour for freshmen,  we have created a  overview of the HoPla and thought about which stations could be included, e.g. research and teaching offers in the field of sustainability, sustainable start-ups, sustainability initiatives such as Sneep, the bicycle repair station, PV systems, the drinking water dispenser or the fair distributor from Foodsharing.

At the next meeting (7/26), we will have a guided tour of the HoPla on climate adaptation measures through plants by Prof. Körner starting at 3pm. While there, we will surely learn about more stops for our tour on biodiversity!

For the Sustain Board, a kind of digital pinboard for sustainability topics at the University of Kassel, we are currently still looking for a tool that supports the visualization of various needs such as events in the field of sustainability and environment, monitoring of energy data (electricity and heat consumption, PV systems, etc.), presentation of mobility infrastructure (bike lanes, bike repair station, bike boxes, charging infrastructure, etc.), material rental.

For the next meeting (26.07.) we will get an insight into different tools and representation possibilities e.g. the map of tomorrow and sustainability city plans for Kassel starting at 2 pm.

The meetings of the Sustain Groups will take place in the Green Office. All working groups are open to interested staff and students from all areas of the university. Anyone new to the process is welcome to join at any time. If you have a brand new idea that you would like to share, you can of course bring it to our meetings. More information about the participation process can be found here.
