Discussion: "Democratic socialism in the 21st century - an outdated model or a new perspective for social democracy?"

Discussion with Prof. Dr. Sonja Buckel (Professor of Political Theory, Spokesperson of the Board of Trustees at the Institute for Solidarity in Modernity) and Kevin Kühnert (Federal Chairman of the Young Socialists)

Welfare state protection, a fair distribution of social wealth, effective control of economic and financial power, an active civil society and the democratization of all areas of social and private life were and are frequently cited goals that could be summarized under the guiding perspective of democratic socialism.

But how can, want and should leading social democratic parties such as the SPD adopt perspectives critical of capitalism in one of the most sustained historical crises of capitalism?

How can they stimulate and activate urgently needed political transformation processes in order to sharpen their profile of a more socially just society?
