Application process for international applicants

Yes, uni assist charges an application fee of 75€.

Please be aware that your bank might charge transfer fees as well.

Tip: Please prepare your documents before your application! Thus you will avoid problems during the application process.

uni-assist needs two versions of the certificates mentioned:
one set of authenticated copies* of the original documents and one set of authenticated copies of translated versions (English or German language).

To complete your online application you have to submit the following documents via post to uni-assist within the application deadline:

• School leaving certificate with which you fulfill the entrance requirement for higher education.
• Certificates and transcripts of records of your previous higher education.
• Proof of at least one year of professional work experience after finishing your first degree of higher education. In special cases, the examination board can decide that work experience (in any field of activity) before you finished your first degree of higher education is acceptable.
• Proof of English language knowledge equivalent to<media 15341 - - "TEXT, Proof English Level B2 new, Proof_English_Level_B2_new.pdf, 189 KB"> level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages</media>.  
• Letter of motivation (maximum two pages) in which your personal motivation and suitability for the master's program is provided convincingly, including a record of previous academic performance, field training and scientific work.
• Applicants from China, Mongolia or Vietnam have to submit the "<link www.aps.org.cn/zh/ - external-link "APS website">APS" as well.

*An "authenticated copy" means a duplicate verified to be a true and faithful copy of an original by an authorized signatory such as a public notary.

• uni-assist evaluates your documents with regard to formal admission criteria for the WES master's program (GPA, English language knowledge, etc.). 
• If you do not meet the profile of the WES master's program, you will be informed by uni-assist directly. In that case your documents will not be forwarded to the University of Kassel.
• If you meet the formal requirements, uni-assist forwards your data electronically to the University of Kassel. You will be informed by uni-assist about this procedure.
• The department of the WES master's program now evaluates your eligibility with regard to the study content and will send you the decision with further information.
• Once a decision has been made, you will be informed about admission or rejection.
• If we accept, your file will only remain with us for one year. After that your file will be deleted. 
• uni-assist will save your file in a data base for a period of four years. During this period of time your file will only be available to uni-assist and the universities you have chosen. Unfortunately, they cannot send back your documents.
• After four years all data will be deleted.

To complete your application, you must submit the following documents online and send them by post to uni-assist in Berlin:

• School leaving certificate with which you fulfill the admission requirements for a university
• Certificates and "Transcripts of Records" of your previous higher education (Bachelor's degree, diploma)
• Proof of one year of professional experience. This must have been gained after your first university degree. In individual cases, the study committee may decide that professional experience gained before the first degree is sufficient for an application.
• Proof of English language proficiency<media 15341 - - "TEXT, Proof English Level B2 new, Proof_English_Level_B2_new.pdf, 189 KB"> at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages</media>.  
• Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages),  in which your personal motivation and suitability for the Master's program is convincingly conveyed, including a description of your previous academic achievements, practical and scientific experience.
• Applicants from China, Mongolia or Vietnam must also submit the "<link www.aps.org.cn/zh/ - external-link "APS website">APS".

• If you meet the formal requirements, uni-assist will forward your data electronically to the University of Kassel. You will be informed of this procedure by uni-assist.
• If you do not meet the profile, you will be informed directly by uni-assist. In this case, your documents will not be forwarded to the University of Kassel.
• The management of the Master's program will now check your suitability for the program and then send you the decision with further information.
• As soon as a decision has been made, you will be informed of admission or rejection.
• After admission, your files will remain with us for one year. The files will then be deleted.
• uni-assist will store your file in a database for a period of four years. During this time, your file can only be viewed by uni-assist and the universities you have selected. The documents will not be returned to you.
• After four years, all files will be deleted.
