Mentoring

In an interdisciplinary Master program, mentoring is an important component of student success. Students have different backgrounds and future career aspirations. Mentoring allows for a more specific focus on students’ orientation within the program and their targeted career perspectives.

The first mentoring meeting is mandatory. Student-mentor pairs are assigned at the start of the program based on undergraduate studies and professional background and the students get a mentoring formular.

Students are advised to use the orientation questions on the mentoring formular to prepare for the first mentoring meeting. Initial mentoring meeting should take place in the first six weeks of the first semester. Students are themselves responsible for making an appointment within this timeframe. After the meeting the mentors submit a signed form to the Student’s office. Unless students have the mentoring form signed on time they will not be admitted to the Master dissertation

Further meetings, depending on the student’s needs, will take place based on individual agreements between mentor and mentee. Appointments are made via email or phone.
