Stay abroad

A stay abroad is a good opportunity to get to know other cultures, improve language skills or deepen specific content. The Institute of Psychology has several partnerships with universities abroad. These enable students to complete part of their Bachelor's or Master's degree abroad.
Through the Erasmus programme, you can receive further financial aid and support in organizing your stay abroad in addition to tuition fee waivers at the host university. Depending on the destination country, free language courses (ERASMUS Intensive Language Course) are also offered.

In general, a stay abroad is recommended after the fourth semester of a Bachelor's degree or after the second or third semester of a Master's degree (but exceptions prove the rule!). Recognition of academic achievements is possible, but should be discussed in advance with the respective module coordinator. Find out at the host universities which courses are offered and then go to the module coordinators at the IfP with the module handbook excerpt!
If you would like to have foreign credits recognized, you may not take a semester off.

Internship abroad

If you would like to complete an internship abroad, this is possible if you are studying in the non-clinical branch or in the clinical branch in the case of the orientation internship. This must also meet the requirements of the PsychThApprO abroad. (The Professional Qualifying Activity I (BQT I) cannot be completed abroad).
If you are interested, please contact the relevant internship module coordinator.

ERASMUS Program

Students can study abroad in Europe on the basis of bilateral exchange agreements between European universities - an exchange is therefore only possible between universities between which such an agreement exists. The application is made via the home university. Students who go to a host university as part of the ERASMUS program receive financial support and possibly BAFöG abroad, have contact persons at the host university and do not pay tuition fees.

The ERASMUS exchange places are aimed at psychology majors from the 3rd semester onwards. Applications should include a CV, a justification for the preferred host university, a summary of previous study and examination achievements, a current photo, a description of current areas of interest and full details of your postal address and email address.

Please make an appointment with Ms. Susana Condado by e-mail in good time and contact our Erasmus representative, Prof. Mirjam Ebersbach

Please submit your application to Ms. Susana Condado.
